SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangsu Yangnong Kumho Chemical shut its 100,000 tonne/year epoxy resin plant at Yangzhou city in Jiangsu province for scheduled maintenance on 3 October, a company source said on Monday.

The plant is likely to resume operations on 25 October, the source added.

The producer will not be offering any cargoes during the turnaround, but it will continue supplying existing customers with material based on previously concluded deals, the source said.

Other producers are heard to be maintaining their epoxy resin plant operating rates at 60-80% capacity. Market supply is deemed sufficient in view of the current weak demand, according to other market players.

Iso-tank liquid epoxy resins (LER) prices were assessed at $2,570-2,630/tonne FOB NE Asia in the week ended 2 October. Drummed solid epoxy resins (SER) domestic prices were rolled over from the previous week at yuan (CNY) 19,200-19,500/tonne ($3,038-3,085/tonne) DEL east China.

Jiangsu Yangnong Kumho Chemical, located in Jiangsu province, is among the top five China-based epoxy resin producers in terms of production capacity, according to market players.
