BUDAPEST (ICIS)--Belgium-based epichlorohydrin (ECH) producer Solvay will shut its 60,000 tonne/year ECH plant in Rheinberg, Germany, for nine days from 20 October for planned maintenance, a source said on Monday.

"This is a planned shutdown, nothing extraordinary and it won't affect supply," the source said on the sidelines of the 46th European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting.

The company said it will prepare for the outage and it will have enough stocks to last the shutdown.

The annual EPCA meeting runs from 6-10 October.
