Ethylene margins were assessed at 47.39 cents/lb ($1,045/tonne, €805/tonne), using ethane as a feedstock, down from 48.90 cents/lb a week earlier.
The fall was mostly attributed to higher ethane costs, which increased to 14.12 cents/lb from 13.47 cents/lb a week earlier.
Also, ethane cracker co-product values fell to 4.39 cents/lb from 4.62 cents/lb during the week.
Spot ethylene prices tightened during the week but were lower on average by 0.625 cent/lb, ending at 57.0-57.5 cents/lb on 5 October.
