SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to restart its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Kawasaki in a few days, following extended maintenance caused by mechanical issues, a company source said on Tuesday.

JX Nippon planned to restart the cracker on around 8 or 10 October.

“The cracker hasn’t restarted yet. Hopefully, it will be restarted in a few days,” the source said.

The cracker was initially scheduled to resume operations on 28 September, after scheduled maintenance that started on 13 August.
