SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes plans to shut its 200,000 tonne/year methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) plant at Yantai in Shandong province for regular maintenance within the following three days, a company source said on Tuesday.
No reason was given for delaying the shutdown, but the source added the turnaround is expected to last a month.
The MDI plant turnaround was previously scheduled to take place on 6 October, the Chinese producer said in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange in September.
The turnaround is not expected to affect MDI prices significantly, the source said, adding that Yantai Wanhua will continue supplying material to its customers during the plant’s shutdown.
