SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yunnan Yuntianhua plans to restart its 20,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) line at its plant at Chongqing by October after it completes its maintenance, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The plant comprises three lines, each with a 20,000 tonne/year capacity. Maintenance for the three lines at the plant was staggered such that only one line is shut at any one time, the source said, adding that the last line is currently undergoing maintenance.

The first line was taken off line on 30 July, the source said.

The company’s fourth POM line located in Yunnan with a 30,000 tonne/year capacity is not scheduled to undergo maintenance, the source said.

POM, which is also known as polyoxymethylene and polyformaldehyde, is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts.
