US Paseo biodiesel plant to be expanded by 40%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Paseo Biofuels’s biodiesel plant in ?xml:namespace>Kansas City, Missouri, will be expanded by 40%, the firm’s stakeholders said on Tuesday.
US food and agricultural firm Cargill and the Missouri Soybean Association said they expect to complete the expansion by March 2013. Financial details were not disclosed.
The plant, which opened in 2008, currently produces 40m gal/year (151m litres/year) of biodiesel and 30m lb/year (14m kg/year) of food-grade glycerine.
The facility uses soybean oil as its primary feedstock. It is adjacent to a soybean crushing facility.By: Stefan Baumgarten+1 713 525 2653
