SINGPAORE (ICIS)--China's Zhejiang Yisheng Petrochemical shut its 650,000 tonne/year No 2 purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang province on 10 October afternoon, a company source said on Wednesday.

"We started to lower operating rate from yesterday," the source added.

The plant will be shut for about one month and will restart in mid-November, the source said,

The reason for the unplanned shutdown was likely the persistently squeezed margins among PTA producers, market sources said.
