SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Qilu shut its 140,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Zibo in Shandong province on 10 October, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant was shut because of squeezed margins and the shutdown may last about one week, distributors of the company said.

The shutdown may have little influence on the market as it is for a short duration and there is abundant supply currently, according to market players.
