SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s palm oil stocks hit an all-time high in September at 2.48m tonnes, up 17.4% from August, with growth in production significantly exceeding the increase in exports, data from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) showed on Wednesday.

The country’s production of crude palm oil (CPO) rose by 20% month on month to 2m tonnes in September, while exports of the product grew by a moderate 4.5% to 1.51m tonnes, MPOB said.

Meanwhile, Malaysia exported 214,495 tonnes of oleochemicals in September, down by 3.62% from the previous month, while exports of biodiesel more than doubled to 1,276 tonnes, compared with 570 tonnes in August this year, it added.
