MELBOURNE (ICIS)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) is on target to start up its new 50,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Bharuch in Gujarat state by the end of October, said a company official on Thursday.

“We have completed pre-commissioning of the plant, and will next look at feeding of raw material,” the official said.

Once the plant achieves on-spec output, GNFC will focus its initial sales in the domestic Indian market, the official added.

Domestic etac prices in India are at Indian rupees (Rs) 52-53/kg ($980-999/tonne) EXW (ex-works) in October.
