China’s Shandong Lihuayi starts domestic phenol/acetone sales

MELBOURNE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Shandong Lihuayi has started phenol/acetone sales from its new plant at Dongying in Shandong province, market sources said on Thursday.
The plant, which has a phenol capacity of 220,000 tonnes/year and an acetone capacity of 130,000 tonnes/year, is running at about 80% capacity.
On-spec phenol/acetone output was achieved at the plant on 6 October.
The company is initially focused on selling in the northern China market. Its offer of phenol is at yuan (CNY) 11,100/tonne ($1,762/tonne), while its acetone offer is at CNY7,900/tonne, the sources said.
