SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy has reduced the operating rates at its 180,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit in Kashima to 70% on Thursday, because of mechanical issues at an upstream crude refining unit, a company source said.

The PX plant was previously running at full capacity, the source said, without providing further details.
