SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Daqing Petrochemical started up its new 6m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) at Daqing in Heilongjiang province and achieved on-spec gasoline and diesel products on 10 October, parent company PetroChina said on Friday.
Daqing Petrochemical’s refining capacity is increased to 10m tonne/year, or 200,000 bbl/day, with the start up of the new CDU, according to a PetroChina statement.
The construction of the new CDU, which involves a total investment of yuan (CNY) 1bn ($159m), took around 15 months to complete, it said.
The new CDU will provide enough naphtha feedstock for the company’s new cracker, which achieved on-spec ethylene on 5 October, according to PetroChina.
