HOUSTON (ICIS)--US n-butanol exports in August decreased by 15% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
US butanol exports rose to 21,159 tonnes in August from 18,443 tonnes in August 2011.
Exports rose in July mainly because of increased product sent to China.
July exports also increased from 11,862 tonnes in July.
China at 11,229 tonnes was the major destination for butanol exports, followed by Belgium at 2,933 tonnes, Mexico at 2,446 tonnes and Singapore at 2,030 tonnes.
Other destinations included India, Brazil, Korea, Colombia, United Arab Emirates and Canada.
