HOUSTON (ICIS)--US glycol ethers (butyl glycol and butyl di-glycol) exports in August increased by 14% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
US exports of butyl glycol (EB) and butyl di-glycol (DB) rose to 48,441 tonnes in August from 42,623 tonnes in August 2011.
Exports increased in August mainly because of decreased amounts of EB and DB sent to Belgium and Argentina.
August exports decreased from 61,327 tonnes in July.
China at 18,237 tonnes was the major destination for glycol ethers exports, followed by Belgium at 11,512 tonnes, Mexico at 8,126 tonnes and Argentina at 5,825 tonnes.
Other destinations included Germany, Canada, Chile and Korea.
