SINGAPORE (ICIS)--German chemicals distributor Brenntag said on Monday it has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire Delanta Group for an undisclosed fee.

The deal is expected to be completed in November this year, Brenntag said in a statement.

Delanta Group is a specialty chemical distributor in Latin America, with presence in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

The acquisition will improve Brenntag’s access to the construction industry in the region and boost its market coverage in Argentina – the third largest economy in Latin America, William Fidler, member of the firm’s management board, said.

Delanta Group generated overall sales of $24.3m (€18.7m) in 2011, according to Brenntag.
