SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shida Shenghua Petrochemical plans to shut down its 70,000 tonne/year propylene oxide (PO) unit at Dongying in Shandong province on the evening of October 15, a company source said on Monday.
The company will restart the plant on October 22, the source added.
The company expanded the capacity of the plant from 50,000 tonnes/year to 70,000 tonnes/year during a previous maintenance period in August.
After the expansion the company ran the plant at 50% capacity.
The shutdown of the plant is expected to have no impact on the domestic PO market, market players said.
