LONDON (ICIS)--Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering and procurement contract by Saudi Arabian firm Sadara Chemical Company, the Switzerland-based petrochemicals engineering company said on Monday.
The contract relates to the packaging centre for Sadara - a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical - to be located at the Jubail Industrial City in eastern Saudi Arabia, Foster Wheeler said.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
The centre will be part of Sadara’s integrated chemicals complex in Jubail, which is expected to be one of the world’s largest integrated chemical facilities, and the largest ever built in a single phase, when it comes on stream. Certain production facilities are expected to be operational in the second half of 2015, with all units expected to be up and running by 2016, according to Dow Chemical.
The packaging centre will serve as the logistics handling hub for the chemicals complex, and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2014.
