LONDON (ICIS)--European polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) fourth-quarter contract prices have finalised at a rollover from the third quarter on broadly unchanged fundamentals, sources said on Tuesday.
Although some PBT sources expect demand to weaken in the automotive sector during the fourth quarter, in line with expectations in POM, this is being counterbalanced by strong offtake from the electrical sector, leading to balanced conditions overall.
Although feedstock butanediol (BDO) fourth-quarter contract prices decreased by €10/tonne ($13/tonne), this was not significant enough a reduction to impact on PBT price discussions, sources said.
Fourth quarter PBT contract prices finaliesed at €3.15-3.16/kg for filled grade material.
($1 = €0.77)
