SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Jilin Petrochemical has restarted its 300,000 tonne/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in Jilin province on 17 October after a two-week shutdown, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant was shut during the week-long National Day celebration because of technical issues which have now been resolved, the source said.

According to the market sources, the shutdown may have had little effect on the market in view of its short duration and the increased inventory volumes of the producers after the holiday.

Jilin Petrochemical, a subsidiary of state-owned oil giant PetroChina, also has a 300,000 tonne/year linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant located at the same site.
