LONDON (ICIS)--BASF plans to cut 90 jobs at its France-based beauty care solutions business, French media reported on Wednesday.

The reports, which cited a BASF spokesperson, said the job cuts at Lyon would part of a consolidation amid tough market conditions.

Media officials at BASF’s headquarter in Ludwigshafen, Germany, did not immediately respond to a request for additional comment.

According to information on its website, BASF’s French beauty care solutions business had a staff of 242 at the end of 2011. The business's main markets are the US, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Brazil.
