SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China-based Hebei Tangshan Alkali Chloride from Tangshan Sanyou Group plans to restart its 300,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) unit at Tangshan in Hebei province on 19 October after scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The company was running the plant at 80% of capacity before the plant was shut on 16 October, according to the source.

The shutdown will have little impact on the local spot market as the duration is short, a trader said.

The producer last quoted PVC prices at yuan (CNY) 6,500/tonne ($1,038/tonne) EXW (ex-works) on 16 October, according to the company source.

The company also operates a 100,000 tonne/year PVC at the same site, which was started up in March this year, the source added.
