HOUSTON (ICIS)--Shell Chemical had shut down a unit at its Norco complex in Louisiana, according to data made available on Thursday from the National Response Center (NRC).

Shell did not disclose which unit was involved in the planned shutdown, when the shutdown started or when it would end. The company did not immediately return a request for comment.

The shutdown had led to a release of butadiene (BD) from the company's Norco site in Louisiana, Shell said in the report to the
NRC on 15 October.

Shell’s Norco plant has a BD capacity of 260,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants & projects.
