HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based INVISTA’s nylon intermediates plant in Texas emitted butadiene (BD) after a power outage, the company said in a regulatory filing made available on Thursday.

The BD was vented to a flare, INVISTA said in a report it filed with the National Response Center (NRC).

INVISTA uses BD to make the nylon 6,6 intermediates adiponitrile (ADN), hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid (ADA).

INVISTA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
