Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao shuts phenol/acetone plant for maintenance

MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao on 15 October shut its 200,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant for a turnaround, a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which is located at Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park in Caojing, will be off line for about 20 days.

Meanwhile, the downstream Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals’s 120,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant was shut on 13 October for scheduled maintenance lasting about one month.

Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao operates two other another two phenol/acetone units with a total capacity of 160,000 tonnes/year at Pudong in Shanghai, which are operating at full capacity.
