SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Qilu Plasticizers is running its 200,000 tonnes/year dioctyl phthalate (DOP) unit at Zibo in Shandong Province at 50% of capacity after restarting it on 9 October, a company source said on Friday.

The company shut the unit on 6 October to adjust the power system, according to the source.

Before the shutdown, the unit was operating at 70% capacity, the source added.

The shutdown has little impact on the domestic DOP market because of the short duration, a trader said.

Shandong Qilu Plasticizer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Sail Group, is a key plasticiser producer in China.
