SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Qisheng Industry & Trade Co Ltd has delayed the start-up of its 150,000 tonne/year de-aromatic solvent oil plant at Zibo in Shandong province to November, a company source said on Friday.

The company originally planned to bring the facility on stream this month.

The postponement is primarily because of poor demand, the source said.

“We’ll keep low outputs in initial stage to check market acceptance," the source said.

The company will initially supply to the Shandong market, with plans to eventually penetrate other regions in China such as Tianjin and Hebei, according to the source.
