SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jilin Petrochemical has shut its 106,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) No 2 unit on 21 October in Jilin province because of technical problems, a company source said on Monday.

“The No 2 unit just had regular maintenance on 9-19 October… but it stopped yesterday due to some plant issues. The earliest restart time will be the end of October, or we will take the ACN market condition into account to decide whether the unit will be restarted,” the source said.

The No 3 and No 4 units, with a 120,000 tonne/year capacity each, were running at full capacity, while the 106,000 tonne/year No 1 unit remains shut, the source added.
