SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Honam Petrochemical restarted its 400,000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) unit at Daesan on 22 October after it has completed its inspection works, a company source said on Monday.

“We restarted this unit today and we are expecting to raise the operating rate of the plant to full capacity a few days later,” the source said.

The unit was shut on 12 October for inspection works to be carried out.

Honam Petrochemical is currently running its other 250,000 tonne/year MEG unit at the same site at full capacity, the source added.
