HOUSTON (ICIS)--CITGO had to shut down a flare gas compressor at its Lemont refinery in Illinois, the refiner said on Monday.
As a result, CITGO reported sulphur dioxide emissions at the 167,000 bbl/day refinery, according to a filing with the US National Response Center. The incident took place on 21 October.
A CITGO official said the compressor was restarted after several hours without incident or injury.
There was no impact to production, the official added.
