SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangsu Yangnong restarted all three of its epichlorohydrin (ECH) lines in Jiangsu province this week after completing a scheduled maintenance of its power-generating unit, market sources said on Tuesday.
The lines with a combined capacity of 90,000 tonnes/year of ECH were shut down on 8 October.
The operating rate of the three lines will depend on downstream demand in the epoxy resins sector, which is quite weak, market sources said.
China’s domestic demand in the epoxy resins sector remains tepid with its prices having fallen by CNY200 ($32/tonne) week on week to CNY18,800-19,300/tonne DEL (delivered) east China as on 23 October, according to ICIS.
Similarly, ECH prices in east China have also fallen by CNY200-300/tonne week on week to CNY11400-11600/tonne DEL as on 23 October.
