SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s average prices of high density polyethylene (HDPE) injection, with melt index greater than 10, fell by 1.18% from 22 October to yuan (CNY) 10,400/tonne ($1,664/tonne) EXWH (ex-warehouse) because of sufficient supply, market players said on Wednesday.

The prices of HDPE injection, with melt index greater than 10, were assessed at CNY10,200-10,600/tonne EXWH on 24 October, compared with CNY10,300-10,750/tonne EXWH on 22 October, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

Imported cargoes from Iran are abundant in China and this led to prices slipping in the week, market participants said.

HDPE injection prices are expected to fall further as the market would need time to consume the spot cargoes, local traders said.
