SINGAPORE (ICIS)-- Brazil’s state oil, gas and petrochemicals major Petrobras has selected melamine technology and engineering company Eurotecnica a contract for the implementation of its 40,000 tonne/year melamine production plant, Eurotecnica said on Wednesday.

The melamine plant will be located in Linhares, Espirito Santo State, in southeast Brazil.

The Petrobras plant serves as part of a grassroots gas-to-chemicals complex called Complexo Gas-Quimico UFN-IV that, besides melamine, includes ammonia, urea, methanol, acetic acid and formic acid, Eurotecnica said.

Eurotecnica will be responsible for the supply of the license, process design package, technical assistance and training. It will also supply the proprietary equipment to ensure a successful completion of the plant.
