US jet fuel falls consumption 4%, inventories drop 0.2%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Consumption and inventories of jet fuel in the US fell for the week ended 19 October, a government agency’s report said on Wednesday.

Jet fuel consumption was at 1.541m bbl/day, a drop of 64,000 bbl/day from the previous week, which was at 1.605m bbl/day, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

For the week ended 19 October, jet fuel inventories were at 42.9m bbl, 10,000 bbl lower from the previous week.

Year on year, the cumulative daily average of jet fuel consumption was 0.5% lower, the EIA said. Last week, that average was 0.8%.

Furthermore, jet fuel production gained 41,000 bbl/day to 1.462m bbl/day for the week ended 19 October.
