SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Sinopec Baling is undergoing test run on its new 100,000 tonne/year line at its expanded caprolactam (capro) unit at Yueyang in Hunan province, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit originally has a capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year. The expansion work, which costs about yuan (CNY) 300m ($48m) was completed on 18 October, the source added.

"We are conducting the trial run on the new line to prepare the start up at the end of November," the source said.

The company is currently running its 130,000 tonne/year and 70,000 tonne/year capro lines in Hunan province at full capacity, the source said.
