SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hebei Shenghua Chemical plans to restart its 300,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Hebei province on 27 October after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant was operating at full capacity before it was taken off line on 22 October, the source said.

The company has a newly built 200,000 tonne/year PVC plant at the same site that it plans to bring on stream in the near term, the source said without elaborating.

Hebei Shenghua Chemical was offering PVC at yuan (CNY) 6,500/tonne ($1,040/tonne) EXW (ex-works) on 21 October, the source said.

Spot carbide-based PVC prices in north China were assessed at CNY6,300-6,400/tonne EXW on 25 October, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
