SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Yangmei Hengtong Chemical has awarded a contract to the country’s private petrochemical engineering, procurement and construction company, Wison Engineering, to design a 300,000 tonne/year methanol-to-olefin (MTO) plant, the contractor said on Thursday.
Under the project, Wison Engineering will undertake the basic and detailed engineering design of the olefins separation plant, by-product and raw material storage installations, and utilities and ancillary facilities.
The statement said Wison Engineering has also licensed the olefin separation technology to other Chinese companies in the recent past.
Financial details and a timeline of construction of the 300,000 tonne/year MTO plant were not given in the statement.
Shandong Yangmei Hengtong Chemical is an integrated chemical company specialising in coal chemicals, salt chemicals and cogeneration. It has chemical, fertilizer, and fine chemical production bases in Southern Shandong and Northern Jiangsu provinces, the statement added.
