SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's Nan Ya Plastics plans to halt production at its 220,000tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant in Mailiao next week for inventory management, a company source said on Friday.

Operations will likely be halted for about 10 days, the source said.

Nan Ya has sufficient PA inventory to continue supplying to customers during the expected shutdown period, the source said.

Buying sentiment was weak in Asia in the week amid softening crude oil prices. PA spot prices were assessed at $1,410-1,480/tonne (€1,086-1,140/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) CMP (China Main Port) and at $1,480-1,520/tonne CFR SE (southeast) Asia in the week ended 19 October, according to ICIS.
