SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s OCI Co has resumed operations at its 20,000 tonne/year No 2 phthalic anhydride (PA) unit at Pohang on 24 October after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Friday.

The No 2 PA unit is currently running at 90% of capacity, the source said.

The company’s No 1 PA unit with the same 20,000 tonne/year capacity is currently shut and will resume operations on 1 November, the source said.

The No 1 PA unit has been undergoing catalyst change and maintenance since 8 October, the source said.

Production from OCI is only sufficient for domestic supply at the moment and OCI is not offering cargoes for export, the source said.
