China’s ethylene output in September rises 3.7% year on year

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s ethylene output rose by 3.7% year on year in September, while its January-September output fell by 2.9% from the same period a year ago, data by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) showed on Monday.

China produced 1.11m tonnes of ethylene in September, adding up to a total output of 11.1m tonnes between January and September, according to the CPCIF data.

The country’s crude oil production in September was at 17.4m tones, a 7.5% increase from the same period a year earlier. China’s crude oil output for January-September rose by 0.6% year on year, CPCIF figures showed.

China’s naphtha output was at 2.0m tonnes in September, a 4.0% drop year on year. The country’s January-September output for naphtha fell by 2.3% year on year to 20.9m tonnes, according to the data.
