NOON SNAPSHOT – Europe Markets Summary

LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Monday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: December WTI: $85.73/bbl, down 55 cents/bbl. December BRENT: $109.22/bbl, down 33 cents/bbl
Futures prices remained pressured during the morning session on a stronger US dollar as well as reduced refining operations on the US east coast ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

NAPHTHA: $948-951/tonne, up $9/tonne
The cargo range climbed from Friday afternoon, driven by higher crude oil prices and a firmer crack spread. November swaps were assessed at $933-935/tonne.

BENZENE: $1,320-1,340/tonne, down $40-60/tonne
Lower demand in the US and softer crude futures brought November prices down this morning. December was backwardated at $1,270-1,330/tonne.

STYRENE: $1,490-1,520/tonne, narrowing
November was relatively steady this morning. December offers were at $1,520/tonne but not met with any bids.
