HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Dow Chemical evacuated workers from a process unit at its Deer Park acrylates complex in Texas after a fire, the company said on Monday.

The fire began about 11:00 hours Houston time (16:00 GMT) at the complex's HT2 process unit, Dow said.

Dow did not say what the unit made.

The fire was quickly contained and the unit was evacuated, the company said.

There were no injuries, and the rest of the complex continued operations as normal, Dow said.

The Deer Park complex has eight units that make methyl methacrylate (MMA), acrylic acid, amines and acrylates.

Deer Park is near Houston, Texas.
