HOUSTON (ICIS)--Petrobras increased third-quarter average daily gasoline imports by 45% from the same quarter in 2011 to meet growing demand, the Brazilian energy major said on Monday.
Gasoline imports increased to 84,000 bbl/day in the third quarter of 2012 from 51,000 bbl/day in the same quarter of last year, Petrobras said during its earnings conference call with investors.
Second-quarter gasoline imports averaged 44,000 bbl/day.
Overall third-quarter gasoline sales rose to 569,000 bbl/day from 488,000 bbl/day in the same quarter last year, Petrobras said.
Second-quarter 2012 gasoline sales averaged 557,000 bbl/day.
