Corrected: US Q3 ethylene production falls 0.6% year on year – AFPM

Correction: The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers has corrected the ethylene production figure used in the ICIS story headlined "US Q3 ethylene production falls…" dated 31 October 2012. The correct third-quarter production figure is 13.61bn lb, not 11.66bn lb.
A corrected story follows.

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethylene production in the third quarter totalled 13.61bn lb (6.2m tonnes), down by 0.6% from 13.69bn lb one year earlier, data from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) showed on Wednesday.

Ethylene output in July-September rose by 10.7% compared with 12.3bn lb in the second quarter of 2012, the AFPM said.

US ethylene inventories in the third quarter stood at 838m lb, falling by 19% year on year, while increasing by 31% from 639m lb in the second quarter of the year.

AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
