US Q3 propylene output falls by 10.6% year on year - AFPM

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US third-quarter propylene production totalled 7.24bn lb (3.28m tonnes), a 10.6% drop from 8.10bn lb one year earlier, data from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) showed on Wednesday.

Propylene output in the third quarter fell by 2.4% from 7.42bn lb in the second quarter of 2012, the group said.

The figures include production of refinery-sourced and co-product propylene, according to the AFPM.

US propylene inventories in the third quarter stood at 1.76bn lb, falling by 6.9% from 1.89bn lb one year earlier and by 5.9% from 1.87bn lb in the second quarter of the year.

AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
