LONDON (ICIS)--Altana has completed a reorganisation of its top-level management, moving the heads of four of its divisions to new roles within the group, the German specialty chemicals company said on Thursday.

The reshuffle is intended to transfer knowledge and skills within the company, according to Altana.

Roland Peter, formerly head of additives business BYK, has replaced Guido Forstbach to run coatings and sealants division ACTEGA. Forstbach replaces Wolfgang Schutt as head of electrical insulation unit ELANTAS, with Schutt moving on to pigments business ECKART.

Christoph Schlunken, former head of ECKART, has succeeded Peter as the head of BYK. All moves are effective as of 1 November.

According to the company, the moves do not reflect any underlying structural changes in any of the four divisions, but are hoped to drive innovation across all areas of the business.

“We are convinced that the four division presidents will continue their successful work in these new positions and will give fresh impetus to the business with their proven expertise and experience. This reorganization aims to expand the flexibility and innovative strength of the group as a whole,” said Altana CEO Matthias Wolfgruber.
