LONDON (ICIS)--US-based company Momentive has opened a new regional headquarters for the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region in Bangalore, India, along with a research and development centre, the chemicals and performance materials group said on Thursday.
The facility is located in the city’s Electronic City industrial zone, and will initially house around 100 employees, Momentive said.
“The IMEA region represents one of the fast-growing regions for Momentive, and is projected to be a key growth area for the company in the future,” said John Dandolph, president of Momentive Performance Materials’ silicones and quartz division.
Research operations in the Bangalore headquarters will focus on applications in the personal care, energy, healthcare, electronics, automotive and construction industries, according to the company. Momentive’s key India manufacturing base is in Chennai.
