HOUSTON (ICIS)--Valero has idled two of its 10 ethanol plants in the US because of low margins, the US refiner said on Thursday.

Valero plans to keep the plants at Linden, Indiana, and Albion, Nebraska, shut until further notice, company spokesman Bill Day told ICIS.

The plants, each with a capacity of 1.2m gal/year, account for 20% of Valero’s overall ethanol production capacity of 1.2bn gal/year, Day said.
