HOUSTON (ICIS)--The November mixed xylene (MX) contract settled down by 33 cents/gal at $3.95/gal, trade sources confirmed on Friday.

The decline comes alongside thin demand for MX as the fourth quarter begins.

Current MX spot prices are at $3.95-4.10/gal, below the October MX contract price of $4.28/gal FOB (free on board).

Major xylene producers in the US include BP, Chevron Phillips Chemical, ExxonMobil, Flint Hills Resources and LyondellBasell.
